Growing the Frey’s

We are inching our way to being completely finished with paperwork/ training and our home study’s! It’s so rewarding to see how Cole and I have come together through this process and are now going to soon be in the system to be chosen and PARENTS! Wow!

Since the last update we have completed our “couple” interview and our individual interviews. Again, these are in order for our social worker to have the knowledge of who we are when she speaks to a birth mom about an adoptive couple. We are so grateful for the guidance, reassurance, and truth she has given us each step of the way. Adoptive parents are blessed with the time they give through this process. We also had a few more trainings to complete, which we are almost finished with the last one!!

This weekend I will be attending my Cursillo retreat! I am so excited and nervous! I ask that you please keep me in your prayers as I leave tonight until Sunday! I am truly ready to have these push (or slap in the face as I’ve been saying) to deepen my faith and knowledge of Catholicism. I hope that I may receive every grace the Lord has in store for me. I have a special friend attending with me, so please keep her in your prayers too!!!

Once I get back Sunday, Monday we will have our first home study! This is will be a check of our home to be sure we have the basic, cleanliness, etc! Once this next step is completed, we will be officially in the system. We also had to create a portfolio, this is a photo album of picture of our family and lifestyle. This book will be given to moms discerning the direction of adoption for their child. The mom will have a vision on the life and future of their child. We pray for her in making this decision.

Everything given in the life will come with hardship. We all go through things differently but it’s important to keep looking forward and trust that God will bring forth beauty from it. This process is difficult. All are experiencing loss and suffering. Though we may struggle the Lord will bring us through! I pray that we and this mother, can continue to see the beauty on the other side of struggle!
